The RS485-LN is a RS485 / MODBUS to LoRaWAN Converter. It can be configured to query MODBUS devices to fetch data values, and then forward them using LoRaWAN uplinks to any LoRaWAN server. It also supports downlink capabilities to receive commands from the LoRaWAN server and forward them to the MODBUS devices. This product is designed to convert RS485 / MODBUS devices to operate on a LoRaWAN wireless network.

Product Description

The RS485-LN allows the user to monitor / control RS485 devices and reach extremely long ranges. It provides ultra-long range spread spectrum communication and high interference immunity whilst minimizing current consumption. It targets professional wireless sensor network applications such as irrigation systems, smart metering, smart cities, smartphone detection, and building automation.

For data uplink: RS485-LN sends user-defined commands to RS485 devices to fetch values from the RS485 devices. The RS485-LN will then process these returned values according to user-defined rules to get the final payload to upload to any LoRaWAN server.

For data downlink: RS485-LN runs in LoRaWAN Class C mode, and so it is always listening. When downlink commands from the LoRaWAN server are received, the RS485-LN will forward the commands to the RS485 devices.
